Artichokes are a vegetable that often gets overlooked in the kitchen, but they are actually incredibly versatile and delicious when prepared properly. One of my favorite ways to cook artichokes is by roasting them with garlic and parmesan cheese. This simple recipe brings out the natural sweetness of the artichokes and the savory flavors of the garlic and cheese. Here’s how to make them at home.

Ingrédients

– 4 large artichokes
– 4 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
– 1/4 cup olive oil
– Salt and pepper to taste

Déroulé de la recette

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Start by preparing the artichokes. Trim the stems and remove the tough outer leaves. Use kitchen shears to trim the prickly tops of the leaves.

3. In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, parmesan cheese, and olive oil.

4. Using your hands or a brush, generously coat each artichoke with the garlic and parmesan mixture, making sure to get in between the leaves.

5. Season the artichokes with salt and pepper and place them in a baking dish.

6. Pour about 1/2 inch of water into the bottom of the baking dish to create steam while the artichokes roast.

7. Cover the baking dish with foil and roast the artichokes in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until they are tender and the leaves pull off easily.

8. Once the artichokes are roasted, carefully remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

9. To eat, simply pull off the leaves and scrape the tender flesh with your teeth. The heart of the artichoke is the true prize, so be sure to save it for last.

I hope you enjoy this simple and delicious roasted artichoke recipe. It’s a great way to add some variety to your vegetable repertoire and impress your dinner guests. Happy cooking!
